The Charter for new members was opened on October 20, 1963 and remained open until the Day of Organization, December 1, 1963. On Organization Day, 92 confirmed members were received into membership by Letter of Transfer, Restoration, Confirmation, and Adult Baptism. Seventy-nine children were received with families and through Baptism. Dr. Karl Kinard, President of the South Carolina Synod, delivered the sermon and declared Christ the King congregation officially organized.
The church's site, consisting of three acres, was purchased in January, 1964 at a cost of $25,000. A capital funds drive was conducted by the Lutheran Laymen's Movement for Stewardship in August, 1964. The congregation pledged $19,200.00 for a two-year period. A building committee was appointed immediately. A fellowship hall, kitchen, and additional classrooms were added in April 1979. May God the Holy Spirit receive all the honor and glory for Christ the King. May God equip Christ the King for the work of ministry. From the Dedication Service program, March 12, 1967.
